Strategic alliance

The Alliance Biosurfactants is a strategic alliance between renowned companies and research institutions in Germany. The overarching goal of the alliance is to find sustainable and scalable alternatives to chemically synthesized surfactants that have so far been made from fossil raw materials.

The first phase of the “Innovation Alliance for Functionally Optimised Biosurfactants” project has been funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the “Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Initiative” for an initial period of three years from January 2018 to December 2020. The second funding phase started on July 1, 2021 for another period of three years.
